City RCMP fired shots at a vehicle when the driver took a run at them while they were attempting to arrest a man early this morning.

Plainclothes RCMP officers were attempting to arrest Steven Lagace, 24, outside the Express 24 in Glendale. Lagace was wanted in connection with stolen property.

Police said Legace fled from them in a green 2005 Ford F350 truck that is believed to have been stolen. Police allege the driver attempted to hit the RCMP officers with the vehicle as he was fleeing. As a result police discharged their sidearms in and effort to stop the action. The driver and vehicle fled despite the damage.

RCMP found the vehicle abandoned a short distance away.

Red Deer RCMP police dog service assisted in the search for Lagace but were unable to locate him. No RCMP officers were injured in the accident.

Police are seeking public assistance in finding Lagace who is described as Caucasian man who is 188 cm (6 feet, 2 inches) tall, 110 kg (245 pounds), and has a scar across his forehead. He has brown eyes and hair.

Lagace is considered dangerous and should not be approached.
