RCMP have released an image of a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle on Highway 2 just west of Red Deer on Feb. 16.

The man, who remains in hospital, was hit early in the afternoon just north of the 32nd Street northbound on-ramp.

Police previously were asking drivers who were driving in the northbound lanes between 1:15-1:45 p.m near the 32nd Street exit on Feb. 16 to check their videos. It is hoped video may have been captured that will help police in their ongoing investigation.

RCMP said they first got a call of a pedestrian running into traffic just before 1:30 p.m.

The man was badly injured and taken by STARS air ambulance to Edmonton.

The man is described as being 25 to 35 years old, with a light complexion, brown curly hair and blue eyes. He is about five-foot-four (1.62 m) and weighs 130 to 150 pounds (59 to 58 kg).

If you have any information regarding his identity, please contact Alberta RCMP Traffic – Innisfail at 403-227-3342. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
