RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating human remains found on March 8 in a house that recently burned down near Maskwacis.
In a press release Wednesday, RCMP said investigators were assisted by the Maskwacis RCMP, the office of the chief medical examiner, an anthropologist, and RCMP police dog services from St. Paul, who used a human remains detection dog.
RCMP is investigating the origin and cause of the house fire. An autopsy on the remains is scheduled for this week.
