RCMP warned early Tuesday afternoon of poor road conditions along Highway 2 between Red Deer and Airdrie.

“Black ice, freezing rain and changing conditions are affecting visibility and surface traction on the road,” said RCMP in a 1 p.m. news release.

Additional reports of poor road conditions are identified in the detachment areas of Redcliff and Strathmore.

RCMP around central and southern Alberta are responding to various motor vehicle collisions on Highway 1 east of Strathmore. RCMP advise that road conditions may deteriorate with the change in weather patterns.
