Red Deer Polytechnic will unveil its new branding in a Livestream event next Friday.

The public won’t be invited to attend the event in person, due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. The Livestream will take place at noon on Oct. 1.

“We have determined that a Livestream is the best option to safely celebrate this day with the large number of people who care deeply about the history and future of our institution,” RDP said in a press release.

“A recording of the event will be available online, so people will have the opportunity to view it as their schedules permit.”

The link for the live stream will be available at rdc.ab.ca/newbrand.

It was announced in May that Red Deer College would become a polytechnic. The institution had originally been approved by the provincial NDP government to become a university in March of 2018.

That decision was put under review with the UCP took over.

In May of 2021, Minister of Advanced Education Demetrios Nicolaides announced that RDC will become a polytechnic institution.
