The shale trail that leads from Rotary Park to Kin Kanyon will be closed for reconstruction starting this week.
On Thursday, the City of Red Deer announced parks staff will replace the stairs and the existing boardwalk, due to safety concerns with aging infrastructure and to address drainage problems at the site.
The work is expected to take five weeks.
Trail users are asked to use alternate trails, obey signs and give the crew room to work.
