A pair of local body shops continue to make a difference to local charities.

CARSTAR Red Deer and CARSTAR Red Deer South donated $3,000 to the Red Deer Christmas Bureau and the Red Deer Food Bank, along with 10 full hampers of supplies.

“We have been committed to these initiatives for 19 years now and try to do better every year,” said Brian Hemstreet, owner, CARSTAR Red Deer and CARSTAR Red Deer South.

Clayton Hermary, manager of CARSTAR Red Deer, added, “Everyone on the team is more than happy with this year’s results and are here to support the community that has supported us for all these years,” added

The local collision repair facilities have donated $37,000 in total funds donated since 2003.

“As we come into the holiday season, those in need are especially vulnerable,” noted Cory Balanoff, manager of CARSTAR Red Deer South.

“We hope that our contributions can alleviate some of the stresses brought on by this time of year and encourage others to give what they can.”
