Building permit applications returned to their seasonal average after slowing in May, says the City of Red Deer, rising from 39 permits to 108 issued in June.
January-June 2020 has seen an overall increase in permit values compared to the same period last year, rising from $74.9 million to $97.1 million.
The 108 permits issued in June compares with 106 in June the year prior.
Notable permits include a permit to construct a 3.5-storey, 24-suite apartment building at 3610 50th Ave., valued at $1.5 million.
A building permit for City Hall renovations, including partial envelope rehab, exterior wall/window retrofit, is valued at $1.9 million.
