St. Lorenzo Ruiz Middle School is one step closer to reality.
The Red Deer Regional Catholic School board broke ground on the new school Friday and expect construction to start next spring. Officials say the school should be completed by the fall of 2023.
The new school, located in the Kentwood neighbourhood will alleviate capacity pressure on Red Deer Regional Catholic middle schools.
Several dignitaries were on hand for the sod-turning Friday, including Red Deer- Mountainview MP Earl Dreeshen, Red Deer deputy mayor Lawrence Lee and Red Deer-South MLA Jason Stephan.
