Information to help local charities and non-profits apply for the latest federal funding to manage COVID-19 impacts is being provided by the Red Deer and District Community Foundation.

The Emergency Community Support Fund is a $350-million program to support groups serving vulnerable populations in the pandemic, which is “exacerbating inequalities and having a disproportionate impact in communities less equipped to deal with its health, social and economic impacts.”

The final installment of the fund is being released by the federal government to community foundations, the Canadian Red Cross and United Way, which are accepting applications from charitable groups.

On Tuesday, an 11 a.m. webinar will be held to provide information about how to apply to the second round of funding.
