Red Deer City RCMP are investigating two cases of arson after two vehicles were set ablaze in Oriole Park last weekend.

Red Deer City RCMP are investigating two cases of arson after two vehicles were set ablaze in Oriole Park last weekend.

At about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, witnesses reported hearing loud noises, then seeing two vehicles on fire behind a residence.

Police and fire crews responded and the fires to the 1997 Dodge Caravan and 1999 Dodge Ram were extinguished without damaging surrounding residences or other vehicles. No one was injured.

Witnesses saw a red truck leaving the area at high speed. The last four numbers on its Alberta licence plate are believed to be 9979.

Police are continuing to investigate.
