Update: Lockdown lifted at Red Deer Civic Yards

Normal operations returned to the City of Red Deer’s civic yards after a brief lockdown Thursday afternoon.

The city tweeted about the disruption at around 2 p.m.

“We are aware of a police incident occurring in the area of Riverside Drive and the Pines. Those directly impacted are being communicated with directly,” said the city in its tweet.

About an hour later, the city tweeted that normal activities had resumed.
