The Red Deer Construction Association recognized its top commercial builders in a ceremony Thursday evening.
The fifth annual Commercial Construction Awards acknowledges outstanding contributions by its members in 2019.
Shunda Consulting and Construction Management Ltd. won project of the year in the over $7.5-million category for its work on Westpark Middle School.
Finalists included Black Creek Developments Inc., for Alexander Place and Scott Builders Inc., for Northside Community Centre.
Project of the year in the under $7.5-million category went to Black Creek Developments Inc. for the Scott Subaru Dealership.
Finalists included Premier Building Solutions Ltd., for Parkland Sled and ATV and Shunda Consulting and Construction Management Ltd., for The Dome Sports Complex.
Chandos Construction was recognized for its work on the modernization of St. Patrick’s Community School in the project of the year – renovation/addition/tenant improvement category.
Shunda Consulting and Construction Management Ltd. was also a finalist for its work on the Lacombe Emergency Department renovation.
Subcontractor of the year went to World Class Contracting Ltd.
Goodmen Roofing Ltd. was a finalist for its work on Carpet One – Carpet Colour Centre.
Bruin’s Plumbing & Heating Ltd. won in the contractor’s choice category.
The Red Deer Construction Association represents more than 300 members related to the commercial construction industry in Central Alberta.
The association has a 60-year history in central Alberta.
