Red Deer County Fire Services will perform a live, side-by-side simulation of a fire in two bedrooms from a typical Alberta house on October 6 at 1:00 PM.

One room will be equipped with a sprinkler system and one will not.

The demonstration will be held in parking lot T of Red Deer College, and is funded in part by the Canadian Home Sprinkler Association.

Fire Services personnel will be on hand to conduct the demonstration and to answer questions about in-home fire safety.

“This demonstration is a great way for residents in the area to witness first-hand how quickly a fire can spread in the typical home and the amazing difference a sprinkler system can make in fire suppression,” Red Deer County Fire Chief Dave Laurin said. “We encourage everyone to come out and see a memorable simulation with very realistic conditions.”
