Ronald Stright had a lucky start to 2021.
Stright, from Red Deer County won 190,399 in a LOTTA MAX draw on Jan. 1. His ticket was a free play he redeemed at Fas Gas in Penhold. He went back to the store a few days after the draw to scan his ticket.
“I didn’t know I had won anything until I scanned the ticket at the store,” said Stright. “I was shocked. I started shaking. I was kind of a mess.”
He added that he plans to do the responsible thing and pay some bills and invest his winnings.
“But honestly, I’m just happy that I’ll be able to relax,” he said.
Stright won the second-top LOTTO MAX prize by matching six out of the seven drawn numbers and the bonus number – 18, 21, 28, 29, 32, 49 and the bonus, 38.
