Red Deer County has some farmland up for grabs.

Council approved putting a couple of quarter sections in the west end of the county up for sale.

One quarter section was bought in 1997 because the province planned to build a bridge over the Red Deer River on Hwy 766. That bridge is no longer in Alberta Transportation’s plans.

The second quarter nearby was bought in 2012 as part of the project to remediate the Kevisville Landfill site. Remediation was completed in 2015.

Both parcels are zoned agriculture and will be sold at the going rate.
