Red Deer Dream Centre’s new executive director is an author, business strategist and mental health advocate.

Dr. Vince Aliberti will oversee the launch and delivery of services at the 40-bed residential clinical drug and alcohol recovery centre due to open in Red Deer’s downtown early next year.

Aliberti has more than 20 years of experience in leadership, corporate strategy, organizational effectiveness, business transformation and mental health experience across a variety of industries, the dream centre said in a news release on Wednesday.

He has written a book on mergers and acquisitions, and numerous others in the personal development genre, including Achieve Your Greatness, 4 Truths, Reflections: Living Lessons On Living One Day At A Time, and A Hero’s Journey: Soulful Leadership.

Aliberti has served as president of the Canadian-Italian Business and Professional Association, been a former University of Calgary senator and vice-chair of Empowering Minds.

“Currently, he is addressing unignorable issues including intergenerational trauma, addictions and recovery, and the impact of mental health in people’s personal and professional life as an impact speaker with the United Way.

“His purpose in life is to empower and inspire people to achieve their personal greatness …”

The Dream Centre will welcome clients coming straight from detox and support them with housing as well as individual and group counselling. Assistance with education upgrading and job skill training will also be offered.
