Red Deer fire ban rescinded, city announces

There is no longer a fire ban in effect for Red Deer.

On Thursday, the city announced a fire ban that was initially issued on June 8 has been rescinded.

“Residents are asked to continue to follow fire guidelines, and to safely dispose of smoking materials,” the City of Red Deer said in a media release.

As of Thursday afternoon, some locations across Central Alberta continue to have fire bans, including Rocky Mountain House, Clearwater County and Stettler County. Additionally, a fire advisory is in effect for Ponoka, Ponoka County and Rimbey.
