Red Deer Emergency Services were kept busy with two fire calls Tuesday night.

Red Deer Emergency Services were kept busy with two fire calls Tuesday night.

Fire crews were called to the first at the Evraz Industries’ pipe mill in the Blindman Industrial Park around 6:30 p.m. There were no injuries as the building had been evacuated and the fire was quickly brought under control.

Damage is moderate and the cause remains under investigation.

The second call came just after midnight from a passerby who saw smoke coming from a home at 4110-50 St. There were no injuries, but the house did receive fire and smoke damage. Its cause also remains under investigation.
