An open house is taking place Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The food bank’s partners, Green Iglu and Relay Education will also be on hand to talk about the projct.

“The open house will be an opportunity to share the greenhouse development and discuss the benefits this infrastructure will produce for our community,” says the food bank in a statement. “It is also an opportunity to share the work being done by our partners in providing the Sustainable Agricultural course for local people.”

The completion of the greenhouse signals the next phase of the Service Canada-funded educational program that will see more than 40 people trained to oversee the greenhouse and hydroponic sea can that will soon be operating
