Red Deer RCMP are investigating an armed home invasion in Eastview early this morning.

Two men, carrying a sawed-off shotgun and knife, entered a home, stole cash and a cell phone, then stole a Jeep belonging to one of the residents.

RCMP were called to the dwelling shortly after 2 a.m. They were told that two men had entered the home carrying the weapons demanding cash, the victim’s cell phone, and the keys to his vehicle. No one was injured during the robbery.

The stolen 2015 silver and black Jeep Wrangler has an Alberta license plate BVT 8501 and was last seen driving southbound on 40 Avenue.

The first suspect is described as Caucasian, from 1.88 to 1.93 metres (6-foot-two to six-foot-four inches) tall, with a heavy set build. He was wearing a bandana over his face and a dark jacket with the hood up and carrying an old-looking sawed off shotgun with fabric tape on the handle.

The second suspect is described as smaller than his companion, carrying a knife with a brown handle.

At this point, RCMP believe this was a targeted robbery and are continuing to investigate.
