A $840,000 dream home will be up for grabs in the 2021 Red Deer Hospital Lottery.

On Friday, the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation officially launched the 22nd year of the lottery, which supports the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.

Designed by Sorento Custom Homes, the dream home, located at 101 Larratt Cl., is a bungalow featuring 3,342 square-feet of living space. It has four bedrooms, including two on the main level, three full bathrooms, and a gym/playroom on the lower level, which sits next to a a family room.

“You’ll love the large sundeck off the living room, and the kitchen is sure to please every foodie,” a press release stated.

“Enjoy the convenience of the five piece ensuite connecting to a large walk-in closet and adjoining laundry room.”

The home prize package includes $10,000 cash, bringing the total grand prize Dream Home package to $880,619.

In addition to the home, there are 135 prizes to be won, valued at more than $1 million. This year’s early bird prize is $25,000. The Mega Bucks 5050 Raffle is returning, featuring a million-dollar jackpot, with a minimum cash payout of $200,000. The early bird cutoff is May 24 and the final ticket sales cutoff is June 21 at 11 p.m.

The lottery will support the purchase of electronic fetal monitors and other equipment for the Red Deer hospital, as well as other health care centres around rural central Alberta.

“Fetal heart rates are monitored during pregnancy, labour, and birth to assess the baby’s wellbeing. Each year there are over 2,700 births at RDRHC alone, and electronic fetal monitoring is performed multiple times during pregnancy,” the press release said.

“New electronic fetal monitors have a number of features not available with the current, paper-based systems. The ability to quickly review, assess, and interpret records is important. New monitors will ensure additional peace of mind to labouring mothers.”

The home is open to the public beginning Saturday at 1 p.m. Show home hours are Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. – those hours may change. Anyone interested in visiting is asked to visit www.reddeerhospitallottery.ca. Strict COVID-19 protocols will be in place to endure safety of guests and volunteers.
