The doors of the 2022 Red Deer Hospital Lottery dream home opened Friday in Evergreen, one of Red Deer’s newest neighbourhoods.
Located at 145 Emerald Dr., the three-bedroom bungalow built by Sorento Custom Homes is valued at $940,332, including home furnishing provided by Urban Barn and $10,000 cash.
Manon Therriault, CEO of the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation, said one of her favourite features are all the windows.
“There’s so much natural lighting in here. Sorento always does a great job bringing something that’s modern, but is also very comfortable and very livable. They really do listen to the feedback of people who walk through their homes,” Therriault said.
Proceeds from the lottery and Mega Bucks 50 will provide about 83 pieces of critically needed equipment for several units at Red Deer’s hospital.
She said if that equipment is broken, services can be cancelled and people may have to go to Calgary or Edmonton to receive care.
“The hospital holds a list of equipment deemed critical for replacement and it’s our goal to clear that list this year. This accomplishment will allow us to inject life into all areas of the hospital, truly making an impact on all central Albertans.”

Over the last 23 years, the hospital lottery has raised over $10 million to provide equipment to Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.
There are 120 prizes to be won in the Red Deer Hospital Lottery valued at more than $1.1 million. This year’s early bird prize is $25,000 cash.
Mega Bucks 50 Raffle features a $1-million jackpot, with a minimum cash payout of $200,000.

Ticket packages are one for $25, five for $75, 10 for $125, and 25 for $250.
Mega Bucks 50 tickets are $10 each, 10 for $25, 25 for $50, and 50 for $75.
“I do think that our ticket prices are very competitive compared to other lotteries around, so it allows our entire community to participate and be a part of this cause,” Therriault said.

The early bird cutoff is 11 p.m. May 25, and final cutoff for ticket sales is 11 p.m. June 20.
The show home is now open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, from 1 to 5 p.m., but may change. Check the website before visiting.
