Red Deer man and woman facing charges after Friday morning collision

Patrolling RCMP spotted vehicle leaving a Red Deer car dealership at high rate of speed

A Red Deer man and woman are facing charges after an early-morning collision on Friday.

RCMP said officers patrolling in the south end of the city spotted a Dodge Magnum leaving a car dealership at a high rate of speed.

Soon after, the vehicle was involved in a collision with another vehicle, causing minor injuries to the driver.

Two occupants of the Dodge fled the scene on foot. A police dog unit was called in and two suspects were tracked down and arrested.

A 31-year-old Red Deer man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, obliterating a Vehicle Identification Number and possession of property obtained by crime. He remain in custody.

A 39-year-old Red Deer woman was arrested and released with a promise to appear in court.
