Red Deer man arrested during break and enter

RCMP conducting surveillance

A Red Deer man was arrested during a break and enter in progress at a north Red Deer business early Tuesday morning.

Red Deer RCMP said at about 1:30 a.m. police observed a man attempt to steal copper wire at the business in the Gaetz Avenue and 77th Street-area.

Police were conducting surveillance of the area after two previous break-ins.

Riley Badger, 23, was charged with two counts of break and enter, two counts of theft under $2,000, possession of break-in tools, and mischief under $5,000.

Badger was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer court on Feb. 6
