A Red Deer man has been arrested after the armed robbery of a taxi.

Leduc RCMP, with the assistance of RCMP police dog services and a police helicopter, responded to the reported armed robbery of a taxi in Leduc County at 10:30 p.m. on April 6.

The taxi driver picked up two men at an Edmonton Walmart and began driving them to their destination.

Police say when the taxi driver stopped his vehicle by the weigh scales in Leduc County, one of the men pulled out a knife and demanded the driver take them to where they wanted to go.

The driver got out of the vehicle without injury and called 911.

Craig Oliver Strawberry, 35, has been charged with robbery. He was arrested Wednesday with the assistance of Red Deer RCMP.
