Red Deer man arrested on 11 warrants

RCMP find man in vehicle that was allegedly stolen in Red Deer

A week after a warrant was issued for his arrest, Red Deer RCMP apprehended a man accused of numerous crimes including a knifepoint robbery at Red Deer College.

Kevin Leo Gallagher, 32, was arrested on Oct. 27 by police who say he was in a stolen vehicle. He was wanted on 11 outstanding warrants and now faces additional charges in relation to the stolen vehicle allegations.

On Oct. 27, police were called to 59 Avenue Crescent to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Police identified it as one that was stolen in Oct. 23 in Red Deer.

Upon his arrest, Gallagher was identified and charged as a suspect in an Oct. 16 knifepoint robbery of a man on the RDC grounds.

He is charged with robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, three counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and illegally possessing or trafficking government documents (identification).

Gallagher appeared in Red Deer provincial court this morning.
