A 30-year-old Red Deer man who has been charged with child porn offences allegedly sextorted a victim in the United States.
Red Deer RCMP said the suspect was charged with child luring and multiple child pornography offences on May 11.
Police said he allegedly engaged in sexually explicit online chats with a young female victim in Illinois. The victim was sextorted into providing photos and videos, which he later tried to sell.
Red Deer General Investigative Section (GIS) conducted a joint investigation with ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit. The FBI was also involved in the investigation.
Mark Andrada was charged with possession of child pornography, exporting child pornography, accessing child pornography, child luring, and print/publish/make child pornography.
Andrada appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was released. His next court appearance is set for June 9 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
