Red Deer man charged with second degree murder

A 50-year-old woman was found dead in a residence near West Park Crescent on Thursday

A Red Deer man has been charged with second degree murder after a 50-year-old woman was found dead in West Park early Thursday.

Police were called to a home in near West Park Crescent around 4 a.m. on Thursday.

Tina-Marie Pfeiffer, 50, was found dead.

Shortly after police took a man into custody who was walking down the street nearby in his underwear.

An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary determined that Pfeiffer’s death was a homicide.

Police charged Jordan Koizumi, 26, of Red Deer, with one count of second degree murder on Friday.

Koizumi is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Red Deer on Monday.
