A 25-year-old Red Deer man is dead after being hit by a vehicle on the QEII Highway on Saturday morning.
Didsbury RCMP were called to a collision involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle in the highway’s southbound lanes north of Highway 581.
The man was dead at the scene when officers and emergency crews arrived.
Officers remained at the scene while a traffic analyst attended to assist with the investigation. Regular traffic flow resumed at about 10:30 a.m.
The circumstances of the collision are still under investigation, said RCMP.
