Red Deer man dies in crash near Drayton Valley

A 41-year-old Red Deer man has died in a collision east of Drayton Valley early Thursday that also claimed the life of a Drayton Valley man.

Breton RCMP said the collision happened about 1:20 a.m. Thursday near Highway 39 and Range Road 45, about 30 km east of Drayton Valley.

When police arrived, the Red Deer man and a 63-year-old man from Drayton Valley were found dead at the scene. Both were driving alone.

RCMP remained on scene for several hours while an RCMP collision analyst assisted with the investigation.

The collision remains under investigation.
