A 40-year-old Red Deer man has been charged with forcing a girl under 18 into prostitution.
Red Deer City RCMP say the man allegedly befriended the girl, gave her illegal drugs, forced her to act as a sex-trade worker, and counseled her to participate in other criminal activities.
Police are investigating allegations there were also other young, female victims.
Michael Braumberger is charged with one count each of sexual assault and procuring prostitution, four counts of counsel to commit robbery, and two counts of counsel to commit theft.
Braumberger was remanded in custody and is set to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Wednesday.
