Red Deer man accused of stealing insurance refunds

A Red Deer man faces fraud and theft charges after allegedly stealing more than $30,000 from two local businesses.

Red Deer RCMP said the man, who is a former employee of an insurance company, fraudulently deposited insurance refunds into his personal accounts between August 2011 and March 2017.

Kent James Devlin, 38, was charged with two counts of fraud exceeding $5,000, two counts of fraud under $5,000, and seven counts of theft under $5,000.

Devlin’s first court appearance was scheduled for Wednesday in Red Deer provincial court.
