A Red Deer man is all set to do a 24-hour video gaming marathon this weekend to raise money for a dog rescue charity.
Dave Flewwelling is setting up his gaming chair for the 9 Lives Video Game Marathon, in support of Help a Buddy volunteer-based dog rescue.
The event is for multiple animal welfare groups, and Flewwelling is playing for Beagle Paws Rescue.
According to the Help a Buddy website, there are fewer than five major grants available to animal welfare groups in Alberta, where there are over 130 registered animal welfare groups.
“Help a Buddy Fund will bridge a gap for many of these animal welfare groups, with support dedicated to alleviate the emotional and financial burden animal welfare groups incur while overseeing guardianship of animals kept in long-term care for a year or more.”
Anyone who wants to contribute to Flewwelling’s page for the cause can click on the website or visit the general fundraiser at dojiggy.io/9lives. This is an online fundraising platform for non-profits and schools.
