A 54-year-old Red Deer man died after his pickup truck collided with a semi truck just east of Red Deer on Monday.
Blackfalds RCMP said the Highway 11 collision was reported about 4:20 p.m. Police, EMS and Red Deer County firefighters and peace officers responded.
Traffic was diverted for some time while the scene was cleared.
An RCMP traffic analyst was called in and the investigation continues.
“It appears that the pickup truck entered into the semi’s lane. The collision analyst’s report may give us a little bit more information on that,” said Blackfalds RCMP Cpl. JD MacKinnon.
“Other than that, all I can say is one vehicle cross the centre line and that’s when the collision occurred.”
