A Red Deer man will be sentenced in January after pleading guilty Wednesday to exposing himself to children.

Gord McCooeye, 36, will be sentenced on Jan. 28 after pleading guilty to three indecent exposure charges in Red Deer provincial court.

Sentencing was adjourned to allow for the preparation of a pre-sentence report by a probation officer.

The exposure incidents all involved children last April in north Red Deer.

On April 16 two separate incidents occurred when McCooeye exposed himself between 8:05 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. to two young girls who were walking along 74th (Nolan) Street.

In each case the girls were approached by the accused driving a dark, blue minivan. He spoke to the girls before exposing himself. The victims fled and the vehicle headed east.

There was no physical contact.

During the same period a young girl was waiting for a bus along 74th Street when she was approached by McCooeye in the same minivan.

He exposed himself and again drove away. There was no physical contact

McCooeye wasn’t arrested and charged until early August following an investigation.
