A Red Deer man charged in connection to a school bus collision and an armed robbery was sentenced to four years in prison.

On Jan. 22, Blackfalds RCMP responded to a head-on crash between a flatbed truck and a school bus with several children on board.

After the collision, the truck driver got out of the vehicle and brandished a handgun at a passerby who stopped to offer assistance. He then drove off in the passerby’s vehicle.

Neither the passerby or any school bus occupants were physically injured in the incident.
