A Red Deer man is facing multiple drug trafficking charges in Drayton Valley.

Mark Louis Pratt, 48, was arrested Tuesday after RCMP attended a local address in Drayton Valley on an outstanding Canada-wide arrest warrant for parole violation. He was arrested and after further investigation, police located illegal drugs in his possession.

Police also executed a search warrant at the residence and located further evidence of drug trafficking.

New charges against Pratt include possession of controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Pratt was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Drayton Valley Provincial Court on July 6.
