Encouraging civic participation, Red Deer Mayor Tara Veer has accepted the Three Things for Canada Challenge.

The challenge, placed by Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi, encourages Red Deerians — and every Canadian — to do three things for their neighbourhood, their nation and the world this year.

“Three Things for Canada involves acts of service that you can do to make your community, your city and your country a better place, something that I know Red Deerians are already so good at,” said Veer in a release.

“So for Canada’s birthday, Red Deer City Council and I are encouraging our fellow Red Deerians in joining us to do or give three things, large or small, in support of Canada 150.”
