Seniors in Red Deer are invited to the annual Mayor’s Garden Party next month.

The party will take place at City Hall Park on June 7, with Mayor Ken Johnston and other councillors in attendance.

“I am thrilled that we will once again welcome Red Deer seniors to City Hall for this preeminent event,” said Mayor Ken Johnston.

“I can’t think of a more perfect time than Year of the Garden and Seniors’ Week to celebrate our community’s seniors against the backdrop of our treasured City Hall Park.”

Between 300-400 seniors attended the Garden Party in 2018 and it was last held at city hall park in 2019, with the mayor making visits to seniors in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Johnston will welcome guests at 2 p.m., there will be music and refreshments. Parking is available in the parking lot next to the old federal building.

In case of inclement weather, the Mayor’s Garden Party will move to the Harvest Centre, Westerner Park (4847A – 19 Street).
