Red Deer’s death metal band Hooker Spit will join a bevy of other extreme rockers at the Loud as Hell Festival in Drumheller next month.

The Aug. 4 to 6 event in the badlands will also feature the ear-splitting sounds of Jungle Rot, Narcotic Wasteland, Incite, Necronomicon, The Convalescence, Arrival of Autumn and many other bands hailing from as far south as Mexico and Las Vegas up to Fort McMurray

The Kick-off party on Thursday, Aug. 3 at Neighbours Corner Pub will feature four bands from Edmonon and Calgary including Eye of Horus.

Friday’s seven band lineup will spotlights Incite from Arizona and Lost Nebula from Mexico. Hooker Spit, from Red Deer, will close Saturday’s show, which also features several big U.S. headliners and Necronomicon from Montreal. And the festival will close on Sunday with a lineup that includes Wormwitch from Vancouver, Eyes of Perdition from Las Vegas, and Volt from Fort McMurray.

Organizers are hoping to see a lot of Central Albertans at this year’s Loud as Hell Festival at the Dinosaur Downs Stampede Grounds in Drumheller. For more information and weekend passes, please visit loudashell.ca.
