A Red Deer Mountie added snow shovelling to his duties to serve and protect earlier this year.
Const. Hassan Abo Sharbeen was conducting neighbourhood inquiries on a snowy day when he noticed a woman struggling to remove her snow.
Without hesitation, Sharbeen offered to shovel the rest of the sidewalk for the grateful woman, who told him she had recently suffered a back injury.
“This is an example of true community involvement,” said RCMP Supt. Gerald Grobmeier.
“Our members are on the street every day, interacting with citizens, and I am extremely proud of the professionalism, integrity and compassion demonstrated by members as they work to keep our community safe.”
