Red Deer North MLA Mary Anne Jablonski has called it a career.

Surrounded by family and friends, the fifth-term MLA told her supporters on Monday morning that it was with sadness and mixed emotion that she would not seek a sixth term in the next provincial election.

Jablonski will continue to serve until the next election is called. Jablonski predicted that will be in April.

An emotional Jablonski said she will continue to be a strong supporter of the Progressive Conservative Party and Premier Jim Prentice.
