Red Deer pavement projects to cause traffic disruption

Pavement work being done at Gaetz Avenue and Highway 11A and downtown in coming days

Motorists are advised the intersection at Gaetz Avenue and Highway 11A will be closed for three days with the first closure on Thursday.

The intersection will also be closed June 20-21 to allow crews to repave the area.

Drivers will also want to stay away from 49th Street between 49th and 51st Avenues beginning Friday evening.

Between 7 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. the following Tuesday there will be full and partial closures of lanes in that area for pavement work. Plan for delays or take another route.

Drivers are reminded to slow down when in construction areas and pedestrians are to cross only at designated crosswalks. This work is weather dependent, and schedules may be subject to change.
