A Red Deer pharmacy owner has raised $4,600 for the local food bank.

Dev Aggarwal, owner of Westpark IDA Drugs, said central Alberta pharmacists united to collect the money, via an online fundraiser.

Aggarwal has been raising money for the food bank since early April.

“At first, I was skeptical, but I thought whatever we can raise, would do,” he said Wednesday.

With the ongoing pandemic, the unemployment rate and the economic situation in the province, Aggarwal said he wanted to spread kindness and generosity in the community with his fundraiser.
