Two people are in custody after a 40-year-old man was found dead following a fight in a residence early Thursday, RCMP said.

City RCMP and Emergency Services staff were sent to a residence on Forest Close at about 2:50 a.m.

Police said someone made a 911 call after an alleged physical altercation between two males.

Police found a deceased man from New Brunswick at the scene.

The deceased will not be named until next-of-kin are notified. An autopsy is expected to be performed by the Calgary Medial Examiner’s office on Friday.

The two suspects arrested are a male, 36, and a female, 37, both from Red Deer.

Police remain on scene. Red Deer RCMP’s general investigation section, forensic identification section and the major crimes unit are all involved.
