All three Red Deer Public Library branches will close to the public on Saturday at 3 p.m., due to the new mandatory COVID-19 restrictions introduced by the province.

But public libraries do have provincial permission to offer curbside and electronic services.

“It’s important for us to continue to fill the need for information and for personally enriching activities in our community,” said Shelley Ross, Red Deer Public Library CEO.

“We realize that library materials and services help our patrons stay informed, connected and entertained and we treasure our role in providing support during lockdown.”

The library offers books, take-home activity kits, jigsaw puzzles, CDs and a large selection of DVDs. Customers can visit the library’s catalogue at rdpl.bibliocommons.com to start curbside pickup shopping.
