A new temporary Red Deer Public Library pop-up branch at the Bower Place Shopping Centre has opened.

The branch, located across from Purdy’s Chocolatier and near The Bay, officially opened Monday. Red Deerians can visit to sign up for a new library card or renew their existing membership, which is free for city residents.

People can also browse and borrow library materials from the pop-up collection, which includes books, movies, puzzles, kits and literacy backpacks, attend a library program or bring their children to enjoy playing and reading in the “Children’s Corner.”

The pop-up branch will be open until October.
