Red Deer Public Schools reviewing updates on health restrictions

Red Deer Public Schools board of trustees and senior administration are reviewing the provincial government’s announcement regarding enhanced health restrictions.

Red Deer Public Schools board of trustees and senior administration are reviewing the provincial government’s announcement regarding enhanced health restrictions.

On Friday, the government “changed COVID-19 public health actions in a number of areas that may have implications for schools,” school division explained in a release.

Over the weekend, the board and administration will review the information to confirm if and how health measures will apply to Red Deer Public Schools.

Families and staff can expect an announcement by the division on the direction that will be taken at 3 p.m. Monday.

Meanwhile, Clearview Public Schools updated its protocols on Friday. Masks for students are not mandatory, but will be highly recommended. Masks for staff in classrooms will be optional, but will be needed for staff and visitors outside of classrooms.

Masks for both staff and students will be mandatory for all indoor facilities, including Clearview facilities and buses.
