Red Deer is the No. 39 Canadian destination city, according to the latest U-Haul migration trends report, rising eight spots from its ranking on last year’s list.
Red Deer experienced a 15 per cent year-over-year increase in one-way U-Haul truck arrivals, continuing to be among the busiest cities for incoming traffic among do-it-yourself movers.
U-Haul is counting down its top 10 Canadian destination cities leading up to Moving Day on July 1, one of the busiest dates for residential moves in Canada, and specifically Quebec.
The No. 1 destination will be announced June 28.
The No. 10 Canadian destination city this year is Victoria, followed by Mississauga, Ont., Brampton, Ont., Quebec City, Windsor, Ont., and Kingston, Ont., in the 15th spot.
The top 50 Canadian destinations are listed on myuhaulstory.com. The list shows Lethbridge took the 32nd spot, Grande Prairie is at 36th and Airdrie is at 50th.
Rankings are based on the total number of arriving one-way U-Haul trucks into a city in the past calendar year.
